Meet Holly & the team

Two people, figuring it out together.

Hi, I'm Holly, founder of Coast to Coast Psychology. I'm a registered General Psychologist who has spent years making sure I don't sound like one.

That's the way we work here. Sessions are warm, plain-spoken and properly human, less expert-and-client, more two people working something out. We bring the evidence base; you bring you.

We're big on the science, but we keep it real. When we talk about what stress is doing in your body, we'll explain it in plain language, in a way that's easy to understand.

I started Coast to Coast Psychology to do therapy the way it should be done, warm, practical and human. Today the team and I support clients online across Australia and in person in Brisbane, and everyone here works the same way.

How we work

Evidence-based. Human delivered.

No journeys, no jargon, no homework you'll never do. Just useful things that work, and the reasons they work, explained so they stick.

01

Grounded in the science

Everything we do is anchored in what's actually happening in your brain and if we ask you to try something, we'll tell you why it works.

02

Explained so you remember it

We draw pictures and use analogies to help you truly understand the concepts behind everything we do in the session.

03

Action over abstraction

We focus on things you can actually do, small, achievable changes that add up.

04

No perfectionists here

You don't need to show up at 100%, do it right, or have it together first. You can come exactly as you are. That's the whole point.

Who we help

You might recognise yourself.

Signature work

The ADHD adult

Diagnosed or suspecting, medicated or not. You want real strategies that work with your brain, not generic advice that assumes it works like everyone else's.

The mental load

The overwhelmed mum

Holding it together for everyone else, running on fumes, and wondering when it became this much. You don't need another to-do list, you need a hand.

At your pace

Rebuilding after hard things

After a relationship, a loss, or a season that knocked you sideways. We go gently, and we go at the speed that feels safe for you.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Do I need a referral to see you?

No, you're welcome to book in directly. If you'd like to claim Medicare rebates, your GP can set up a Mental Health Care Plan, but it's not required to start.

How much does a session cost?

Sessions are $250 for 50 minutes. With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you can claim a Medicare rebate on a number of sessions each year, which brings the out-of-pocket cost down.

Is telehealth as good as in person?

Skipping the commute and the waiting room actually makes it easier to show up and keep showing up, and the research shows telehealth works just as well as being in the room. That said, if you'd rather sit in the same space, in-person sessions are available in Brisbane.

What happens in the first session?

Mostly we just talk. We'll get to know what's bringing you in and what you'd like to be different, and you'll get a feel for how we work. There's no pressure to have it all figured out, that's literally our job.

What if I need to cancel?

Life happens, just let us know at least 24 hours ahead where you can, so the spot can go to someone else who needs it. Full details are shared when you book.
