The people behind the practice.
Coast to Coast is a small team of psychologists who have put a great deal of effort into not sounding like psychologists. Here's what that actually means for you.
Two people, figuring it out together.
Hi, I'm Holly, the founder. Therapy here is not an expert talking down to a client. It's two people figuring out the world together. We talk like people, not textbooks, and we'd rather draw you a picture of what cortisol is doing in your body than lecture you about mindfulness.
I started Coast to Coast Psychology to do therapy that way: warm, practical and grounded in evidence. The science matters, but so does the way it lands. Skills you understand, in language that sounds like your own life, are the skills you'll actually use on a hard Tuesday.
Today we're a small team who all work the same way, with telehealth clients right across Australia and in-person sessions in Brisbane. Small enough that you'll never be a case number; big enough to find you the right fit.
Action over abstraction.
Drawings over jargon
When we talk you through what stress does to your body, we’ll draw it. Cortisol, endorphins, the lot. You’ll remember the picture long after you’d have forgotten the lecture.
Evidence, not woo woo
Every skill we practise is grounded in something real. If we do breathing exercises, you’ll know exactly what they’re doing in your body and why we know they work.
Permission to not be 100%
You don’t have to arrive sorted, do the homework, or perform progress. You can cry, laugh, or sit in silence. All of it counts as showing up.
“There are no
perfectionists here.”
People, not case files.
Most of the people we see are juggling too much: mums carrying the mental load, adults working out their ADHD, women rebuilding after hard relationships, and people whose anxiety has quietly taken over the steering wheel.
Whatever brings you in, you’ll get the same thing: a real conversation, practical skills, and zero judgement.
Come say hi.
The first session is just a conversation. No forms to agonise over, no story to rehearse, no pressure.
